I get so frustrated with this kind of thing, that i just cannot finish the book. Butcher stories are fun, though. Good to see you back.

While I don’t like Julie very much by the end of the book, I have to admire her unflinching honesty. This doesn’t always make for a pleasant read, but it’s certainly interesting. I was never bored.

I should reiterate, though, that a large portion of the book is spent discussing very specific butchering techniques. As an amateur cook and meat-lover, I found this fascinating, but I can see where a lot of people wouldn’t.

I too enjoyed “Julie & Julia – the movie” more than I enjoyed “Julie & Julia – the book”. Julie simply isn’t likeable.

As much as I hate to admit it, I often enjoy reading memoirs by people who I just don’t like. Julie certainly fits the bill, and based on your review that she embarks on an extra-marital affair, I’m definitely intriuged by this book. Is it worthy my time?
